About the Journal

The Pakistan Association for the Advancement of science is the oldest and premier organization founded soon after the establishment of Pakistan in 1947 and, within its means (including Financial Resources), has contributed significantly to the development and promotion of science. Pakistan comprises two wings, i.e., West Pakistan and East Pakistan. Taking into consideration the long Distance between the two wings, two regional branches were established for frequent meetings of the scientists, one at Lahore(the west wing) and the other at Dacca(the east wing) on 10th April 1948. Regional branches were discontinued after separating the eastern wing (now Bangladesh) in 1972. Since its foundation, it took one year to plan its activities, namely holding Science Conferences and Publication of Journals. During the last 68 years, the association has built up a sizeable library that pertains to journals received from abroad and within the country and presents ranks as one of the best science reference libraries in the country. In the spirit of the limited recourses, the Association has contributed signification to promoting and developing science in Pakistan during the last 68 years of its existence.

Since 1949 the Pakistan Association for the advancement of science has published two international journals i.e

I. Pakistan Journal of Science (PJS)
II. Pakistan Journal of Scientific Research (PJOSR)
III. International Journal of Emerging Engineering and Technology (IJEET)
 
But on the recommendation of the Higher Education Commission, the Pakistan journal of scientific research (PJOSR) was merged into the Pakistan Journal of Science (PJS) in 2008. And since the PJS is regularly published quarterly. PJS exhibits a great interest in the sciences and business and their intellectual mentoring. The team of PJS also organizes international conferences, research workshops, and seminars with collaborations of different universities and research centers. PJS recognizes the exceptional contribution of researchers and their institutions.
